NZ BUSH

NZ Bush

Did you know that NZ Native trees are getting killed by possums and other stuff?. Did you know that māori ancestors believed that spirits and gods lived in the bush.

Did you know that in 1800 Europeans came and brang:  Dogs,Cats,Stoats and Weasel that killed of the native birds. And: Possum, Deers, Goats and Pigs destroyed the forest.

The early Māori burnt some of the forest to provide fernlands and land for cultivation. They introduced the Rat and the Dog which were predators.

Many birds were excited or could only survive in the deep forest or on remote island.

Other like: Kiwi, Kokako, Kaka and Kereru are threatened with extinction today. Unless we put time and effort into making sure they survive.

A few weeks ago  Te Ngahere we made a report. I learnt how to use proper nouns and common nouns. I learnt how to use paragraphs and to use topic sentences. We had to write more than two reports.
